That's better than what I renegotiated earlier this year with one of the major companies, after I heard a lower rate a friend was paying with them.

(but I get a free service --which they do a real good tune up/cleaning every year and replace old parts if necessary. and 24/7 emergency service which just means a guy shows up with a 5 gallon can)

That's a pretty good price.

 

I have a negotiated $2.3x ( can't remember the final pennies ) ceiling price also with a full service 24x7 contract that I did around September 2015. Delivery last week was 1.97 I believe.. Not great, but not bad, and with a wife and 3 small kids in the house ... I don't want to hear it if I need service in the middle of the night etc..!

 

I had Slomins for years. Hated them.

And by "emergency service" I mean repairs not oil delivery.

 

My oil company is offering $2.19 cap price for 17 months + the cost of the service contract, I thought that was pretty good but it looks like others are getting much better deals.

 

I renegotiated to a similar rate earlier in the year (slightly higher) and also thought it was pretty good.

Again, I'm pretty happy with the service which in 4 years of experience has been truly "full service". I'm leery of the "full service" of others, and if I wanted the hassle of that route I'd haggle COD with different places.

 

Had Slomins for a couple of years, problem was I don't use 600 gal a year so they ***** and moan. Never had an issue with them but will not go with them again...it was $149 for an annual service contract. That $1.79 was for a year, might be lower now.
I go with a guy that lets me mail a check. $1.32 two weeks ago

 

Have Ben Oil Co. for a few years now. I choose not to lock in with them, I pay current price (-20 cents per gallon when paid within 5 days of delivery, CC on file). This includes 24/7 service and annual cleaning. Last delivery on 1-21-16 I paid $1.78 per gallon.

This has been very good for me. I have a super efficient Buderus boiler w/logomatic control and use the heat (super efficient) on my mini-split system to supplement the oil burner.

I know my mother ON LI locked in at a top rate of $1.97 with Petro w/ free contract.
They had been hosing her forever, they never told her about an ability to lock in a rate.
When she learned about a lock in rate a few years ago, never once did they lower the price despite
the fact that oil prices went down at times. When she questioned them about it she said the phone went silent, which was followed by a bunch stammering and we will look into that.

 

I pay $125 for a yearly tune up and clean etc. No 24/7 included. Today I bought 150 gallons @ $1.34 from Romeo Oil thru CODFUEL.COM

Ive been using the same guy for 15 years- AAA Plus Fuel Oil. He's based out of Smithtown. I have a 550 gallon tank so I usually fill up in the fall and the spring. His prices are good. I call him and he's there with a day or two. I never used him for emergency service. He does sell service contracts. Nice guy and the service is great.
