Judge ordered Zimmerman to be held in a 1 million dollar bond, zimmerman has the funds to post his bond, the state has a weak case against zimmerman and he has a strong case of self defense.

They don't know what to do with him.  They know he's not guilty but if they release him we all know what's going to happen during a nice hot summer.
It's a shame he got convicted via the press.
Another oakland riot would be entertaining right about now

Yup,,,,Cant we all just get along, heard that before.OJ was granted freedom after he murdered, now Zimmerman defends himself and they want to throw his butt in jail just to please those who want to convict him so there wont be a riot,I say "RIOT" then we'll beat you with our Batons and throw YOUR butt in jail.END OF RANT....

I said this in another thread... The people of Florida are armed, unlike the people of the fellow sinkhole CA. I don't think we will see riots in Florida like we did in CA with Rodney King. If we do, we will see a lot more people killed by citizens guarding their property and their lives.

I suspect he will be not guilty, but guilty of lying. Time served and fined.

This whole things a mess

Lesson learned here is, teach your kids to respect police and call them if need be, or call you in the very least, not their girlfriend!

This whole thing would have been avoided if Trayvon called the police when he was scared he was being followed... IMO
BRAVO!

I agree with you FMJ,but also think that Zimmerman should have obeyed what he was told by the police dispatcher when he first called. He should have let the police do their job, there was no clear and present danger for Zimmerman to act on.
There is a video I don't know if it has been posted here yet, but it's George Zimmerman walking police step by step through what happened that evening. Trayvon got away from Zimmerman multiple times before the confrontation. Zimmerman pursued even though he had no reason to.

From what I heard, when Zimmerman was told to back off and let them do their job, he was going back to his car. That's where I'm speculating that the confrontation occurred. But, since none of us were there ourselves, all we can do is speculate based on what we hear from various news stories and media outlets.

That said, there's no possible way to avoid a jury not being tainted by the media, which means he can't have a fair trial (not that I think he's guilty anyways); plus the President jumping in with what he said about if he had a son it could've been Trayvon makes it even more difficult to get a fair trial.

There's a reason why he was initially released; they didn't have a solid case since it was self defense according to the initial set of investigators.

I agree to a point.. Firstly, he did, if you listen to the tape or read the transcript, he said ok and was returning to his vehicle.

Also, I don't think people are required to "obey" a 911 operator. A case a few months back in oklahoma I believe, when a young girl was told by a 911 operator, not to shoot an armed intruder who was breaking into her home. She didn't listen, shot the intruder and possibly saved her life and the life of her baby. Had she "obeyed" she might not be alive.
I think common sense must come into play for sure, but your the one who's gonna pay the price either way it works out, not some $10/hr 911 operator

Source? Copy of the video? From my understanding, as said in above post, Zimmerman was heading back to his car when the confrontation occurred.

Either way you look at it, if I have someone on top of me, who broke my nose and is smashing my head into the ground, I'd be in fear of dying. I would rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6 as the saying goes.

No of us know what happened,IMO,and from what I believed happened was that Zimmerman started to walk away from Martin, and Martin became the aggressor.

Can't embed from iPad. Interesting video.
If you sign into YouTube via safari on iPad, you can copy and paste the embedded video... Just figured this out the other day. Just a heads up for the rest of you iPhone/iPad users
Even press does not what anything to do with him since they have found out he is partially a minority. It's a one huge mess.
JoeyP, why would the defense attorneys ever release a copy of a tape they thought would even remotely incriminate him? That's a terrible strategy, don't you think?
.................. he's a nice boy let him go home and have some chicken soup.

The video is the police having him walk them through what he remembers happening that day. All evidence is slowly gonna be released to the public...like every case
