These crimes are becoming just too commonplace.

"Dwayne Heath Jr., 17, was killed at about 12:15 a.m. at the intersection of Munn and Ravine streets, police said.

Police said the unidentified woman wrestled the gun away from Heath and shot him."

A final decision on charges is up to the district attorney? what the #*#* is there to decide? she wrestled the gun from an attacker and used it on him!
a terrible tragedy whenever a life is lost, however, i think it would have been more terrible had the innocent  woman been killed

As disgusting as that line is, had this been in NY, the line would read "The woman was arrested after being treated at a local hospital." and we would hear how she violently attacked the poor defenseless robber, his mom would have been screaming about how he should have had a backup gun to protect himself. We would have had Bloomie on TV talking about the evils of guns and how all guns should be banned even though the kid was 17 and STILL had one.

Don't forget the gunshow loophole, and a plug for microstamping.
A good lesson in weapon retension would have prevented this traggic event.

And quite probably caused a worse one.

And the heat seeking bullets with the thing on the top that goes up and throw in the incendiary rounds.
All kidding aside, 1 potential victim is safe tonight. That's a big win for the good guys.
He was probably a good kid and an honor student. He would have never had an illegal gun.
Ya forgot something to add to this innocent child's resume---...." he also was an Eagle Scout and an Altar Boy....."....what a shame---tsk-tsk---boo hoo. "Doc" :damn

Relax, it's standard procedure to have it go through the District Attorneys office. She'll be exonerated.

It the DA's job to make sure that there is nothing more to the story. There have been cases where the supposed victim was the real mugger that initiated the attack and initial police reports were proved incorrect after further investigation.
