Winning the lawsuits, with the laws actually getting fixed, permanently, as well as being able to actually carry off my front lawn with a full carry license are positive things.
"Likely to have favorable outcomes", and having a useless CCW license that I have to pay hundreds of dollars extra for and renew 2 years sooner, are not. I have hopes for the future too, but they are only hopes, not tangible things.
Even the Bruen opinion from SCOTUS, which should be a positive thing, is not in actuality, until it's intent becomes reality.

New law required the 18-hour training. We offer it in Smithtown American Legion for $345 for Legion Members and $395 for non-members. We do it over 4 nights from 530 to 1030 first 3 nights and 3 hours last day. Our course is broken into 4 modules and if you cannot make one simply attend that module in the next class. We currently have classes scheduled in Jan and Feb. Jan date is 11, 12, 17, 19 and Feb date is 7, 8, 9, 10. email [email protected] for more info

This is pretty confusing, and do i have to take a renewal class every 3 years for a Concealed Carry? And what will the renewal cost? NY‘s dopey law has the unintended consequence of more people than ever getting carry permits, fine with me but that probably wasn’t their intention.

More people are applying because of Full Carry. If it’s true, 500,000 people have applied in NYC.

The reason more people than ever have carry permits in NY is because pre Bruen you could not get one in several jurisdictions (Nassau-Westchester-Suffolk-NYC…….)

Although the CCIA was poorly written because it was drafted overnight it does not specifically address your question. However, it is my understanding that the 18 hour class is a one time item.

No it's a one shot deal. You have to take the course before getting a carry permit issued to you. It is not required in the text of the CCIA or additional regulation for you to do so upon renewal or otherwise taking it multiple times.
