As the lethal injection began taking effect, the Mexican National convicted of the brutal rape and killing of a teenage girl in 1995 shouted, "Viva Mexico!" just before he died at a Texas prison.

Efforts by Humberto Leal's attorneys to halt the execution fell short, with the U.S. Supreme Court turning back a stay request and Texas Gov. Rick Perry refusing to grant a pardon. He was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. local time

On one hand, the Obama administration is petitioning the SCOTUS to force states to comply with international convention (to which the US is not currently a party) by advising suspects of their right to contact the consulate of their home country (which presumes that police must first inquire as to the immigration status of a suspect.)

On the other, the Obama administration is separately suing to prevent states from allowing police to attempt to ascertain the immigration status of individuals who have been stopped pursuant to routine law enforcement activity.

Only in America.

he attended columbia and harvard, so what do you think? or were you referring to his school days in indonesia (1967-1971)?

Is there any actual proof that he went to Columbia & Harvard? Something like transcripts, etc?

There may be. And yet again, there may not be.

But "IF" Obama ever alienates the media, I'm certain we'll learn some of the truth. But to paraphrase the words of Jack Nicholson ... Can we handle the truth?

Students meet the attendance requirements all the time, whether they actually learn anything is up to them.. I'm sure his childhood upbringing set more the type of views on America he holds than his formal education..

I love it, "Viva Mexico!" Had this beast resided in Mexico the last 16 years, odds are he's already be dead from his amigos.. But we're the bad guys for keeping him alive, well fed, with AC & indoor plumbing, full medical, and all the other bennies of modern US prison life..
Probably the best years of his life! and No "Thank You America!"?!?! WTH!?!? 8) 8)
