I can't even fathom the level of corruption and insider deals that go on in that cesspool called the UN.
  • Saudi Arabia: flogs and imprisons women for their rape
  • Saudi Arabia: imprisons internet blogger because he disagrees with islam, therefore has "insulted Islam"
  • Saudi Arabia: Plans to crucify a 20 year old because he insulted the king and "Islam"
  • Saudi Arabia: Does not allow Christians or any other religion to pray in public.
  • Saudi Arabia: imprisons people with no proof
  • Saudi Arabia: Has beheaded more people this year than ISIS
  • United Nations: why don't you be the head council for human rights Saudi Arabia?

http://blog.unwatch.org/index.php/2015/09/20/saudi-arabia-wins-bid-to-behead-of-un-human-rights-council-panel/

GENEVA, September 20, 2015 - U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power and EU foreign minister Federica Mogherini should condemn and work to reverse the appointment of Saudi Arabia as head of a key UN Human Rights Council panel that selects top officials who shape international human rights standards and report on violations worldwide, said UN Watch, a non-governmental watchdog organization based in Geneva.
"It is scandalous that the UN chose a country that has beheaded more people this year than ISIS to be head of a key human rights panel," said UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer. "Petro-dollars and politics have trumped human rights."
"Saudi Arabia has arguably the worst record in the world when it comes to religious freedom and women's rights, and continues to imprison the innocent blogger Raif Badawi," Neuer added.
"This UN appointment is like making a pyromaniac into the town fire chief, and underscores the credibility deficit of a human rights council that already counts Russia, Cuba, China, Qatar and Venezuela among its elected members."

This happened back in Mecca 2002
No reason to believe things have changed.

\"Saudi Arabia\'s religious police are reported to have forced schoolgirls back into a blazing building because they were not wearing Islamic headscarves and black robes.\" So begins a report today by England\'s Telegraph Group Ltd., publishers of The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph. The report quotes Saudi newspapers to the effect that scuffles broke out between firemen and members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice when the latter tried to keep the girls inside a burning school in Mecca. Fifteen girls were killed as they stampeded to escape from the blazing building in the holy Muslim city. The Telegraph reported that a civil defense officer said that he saw three members of the religious police \"beating young girls to prevent them from leaving the school because they were not wearing the abaya.\"

Membership of the UN Human Rights Council

The Council is made of 47 Member States, which are elected by the majority of members of the General Assembly of the United Nations through direct and secret ballot. The General Assembly takes into account the candidate States' contribution to the promotion and protection of human rights, as well as their voluntary pledges and commitments in this regard.

The Council's Membership is based on equitable geographical distribution. Seats are distributed as follows:

African States: 13 seats
Asia-Pacific States: 13 seats
Latin American and Caribbean States: 8 seats
Western European and other States: 7 seats
Eastern European States: 6 seats

China, Uganda, Mauritania, Qatar, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua in addition to Saudi Arabia are other nations with "sketchy" if not abhorrent Human Rights records that served on the UN Council of Human Rights. The only one that seems missing is North Korea. I cannot figure out why....hmmmmmmm?

It's like a nightmare

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not to be confused with United Nations Human Rights Committee or United Nations Human Rights Commission.
"UNHRC" redirects here. It is not to be confused with UNHCR, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. United Nations Human Rights Council

The General Assembly established the UNHRC by adopting a resolution (A/RES/60/251) on 15 March 2006, in order to replace the previous CHR, which had been heavily criticized for allowing countries with poor human rights records to be members.[sup][1][/sup]
