Anybody here have experience with sending in your slide to Trijicon and having them install their sights? I'm trying to estimate turnaround time, how soon or long should I expect to be without my pistola. Any info appreciated.

i went to south shore sportsman, they did it while i waited. prob cheaper than paying for shipping and all the other nonsense too. they were very reasonable.
(I know this doesnt answer your question) I would have to agree with NYram, why pay for shipping, and if it gets lost or damage, your better off going to a local gun shop and having them do the work on-site. Plus the turn around time would be nothing.
Either way you go, good luck.
Oh sure, now you guys tell me... ;D ;D

Seriously though, I did not know otherwise I definitely would have gone there. As you guessed I already sent my slide in. :B

Well, I would give them two weeks, then start calling!  :p
So you sent it out then asked the question?  :-/
Well, yes. But let me precede this by saying I was and am not in a hurry to get this done, I was just wondering.
I originally decided to send it in to Trijicon to have it done by them because I had read many posts on other forums about the high quality of their work and if I ever had an issue with the sights I did not want the installation to be a mitigating factor.

As I mentioned, had I known that SSS would have done it I may have gone that route, never thought to ask. Live and learn.

Funny, I went there and asked them about adjusting the front sight on my pistol and the guy told me they could not do it and it wasn't worth doing on the pistol I had. He was like, it's not like a high end gun like a Sig or something similiar (I'm paraphrasing right now). I was a little disheartened about that at the time. I don't hold anything against Campsite just that counter person. I still go there when ever I can.
I'm in sales and no matter what the customer buys/owns I would never tell them, well you know if you bought a better piece of equipment it might be worth it. But hey, maybe I was a little sensitive that day. :)

Sorry, Beretta PX4 Storm, 9mm.

Iim surprised because that is a nice pistol
I thought so to, but like I said, I knew it was that individuals personal feelings and did/do not feel that it was a store issue. Heck, I bought the gun there to begin with.
In any case, back on topic, I will plan my shooting time around the possible two week turnaround and learn from this experience.
I did not bother checking with the locals because from reading around here the only gun shop I knew of that had smiths on hand was Bensons. Next time I will ask the stores themselves, my bad for not doing my due diligence. Like I said though, I have other means of defending my family and home so this was not exactly a must have right away scenario, just trying to plan ahead. I appreciate everyone's info as always. :)
