Meteor showers tomorrow night... Always a very cool way to spent a few hours doing nothing.

A telescope is great but very, very difficult to capture anything with because of the randomness and speed of these buggers.
I decent camera set solidly in a dark place with an open shutter should catch some interesting things.
There are a few apps that will also show the position, direction and trajectory of satellites. ISS is often easy to view with the naked eye, binoculars or a scope (think spotting scope) can provide some spectacular scenery.
I'll be at a conference upstate so I'm looking forward to some great viz.

Enjoy

This is a pretty cool site for dynamically mapping the constellations and figuring out what's where and when.

We're about 41 deg. North and 73 deg. West. Perseus is just above the horizon now in the NE. It will be on the rise after midnight.
