1 1/2 from the end of stock & yes use epoxy & the front stud goes in between the front barrel band slight filing maybe needed no epoxy or loctite needed
Sling Stud Install Questions?
Figuring it is about time that I install my sling studs onto my Ruger 10/22. I just have a quick question about the placement of the studs. I have searched a little bit, and haven't really found a set standard answer. Does it really matter where you place them? Is there recomended distances from the Butt, and from the foreend that you should place these at? My stock is composite, so should I put a little epoxy in the holes I drill when I screw the studs in?

U can also choose to use the machine screw with nut for the front stud. Drill a little recess inside under where the barell sits. Nut is tightened into that area. Yes epoxy for the butt end if using this method.
