A 24-year-old Seattle man was sentenced Friday to 18 months in prison after selling guns to a federal informant.

Tremayne Galloway previously pleaded guilty to gun charges after he was accused of selling stolen guns to a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives informant in late 2009.

Arrested following the ATF's "Operation Party Crasher," Galloway was caught selling several weapons to in late 2009 and early 2010.

"Most, if not all, of the firearms were stolen, and the defendant knew that as well," Assistant U.S. Attorney Vince Lombardi told the court.

"Illicit firearms trafficking is also a very serious offense. Weapons sold in this fashion often end up in the hands of other drug dealers and gang members. They also often end up used in violent crime."

Galloway was sentenced in U.S. District Court at Seattle by Chief Judge Robert Lasnik.
