Anyone have a idea where I can get a after market gas tank for a 2001 f 450 gas v 10. Ford wants about 1200 to 1500 for a original. Ive checked medford auto wreckers and d&d trucks yards but nothing used. Titan only makes diesel tanks. Didnt expect to pay this much...
Big truck equals big money parts. There are 2 salvage yards actually 3 i know of. Center moriches, east quoge area, and Southampton on I believe majors path
I just had a custom tank made for the C5 to store methanol. Rick's Garage aka Genco. Found them at Jeg's while shopping for a tank. You should be able to locate a tank local going to an auto body shop or bone yard.
Those never seem to leak unless the tank is overfilled- on all my Ford PUs, the seam near the leading corner of the tank gets a pinhole leak. on my last F250, I replaced both with plastic. Only disadvantage is it's hard to slap the tank to determine the fuel level if you aren't sure about your sender or selector switch.
Just got a price from family auto for 750. Think that might be my best bet. To get it patched and installed I would rather have new I guess. Might be cheaper new in the long run. Thanks for your help
This may hold off the wolves a bit, in Lowes paint dept they have a spray can of stuff that patches stuff even under pressure. It's worth $12 to try it.
You talking about the Rustoleom version of FLEX SHEAL (As pronounced by the spokesperson). That ish sucks the opposite end of a Richard.
Tried it on the corners of my gutters and it did nada
