Reccomend a Scope!

My Mosin's have arrived! I'm picking them up probably on Friday from the FFL.

As many of you know I purchased these as cheap-long range shooters. To go along with "cheap" concept I now need a scope.

I'm planning on mounting it in place of the rear sight, I really dont want to tap and drill into the receiver, so then I would need a long eye relief scope.

Can you guys reccomend one?

Happy New Mosin! I never bothered with the scope thing. I too did not want to drill & tap the receiver. Curious as what you could do?

The solution is on http://www.tickbitesupply.com/mos.html , item: RI-SCO-M4491SCOUT , it's a scope mount that goes in place of the rear sight.

I'm with you, I don't want to drill into my reciever. I'll pick this up and look into a long eye relief scope. The question is if anyone can suggest one for a reasonable price. 8)
Many pistol scopes offer long eye relief.  Try that angle.

In terms of magification specs; what would be decent for 100-200 yards ?
For target at ranges of 100 or so, you are going to need at least 6x. 200 yards may be difficult with an inexpensive scope , high eye relief and throwing in the pistol criteria. Obviously, most people don't shoot scoped pistols at 200 yards.

I have seen 2-7 pistol scopes under $100.00 with 14" eye relief, you will obviously need more. I would start researching it though.
I edited my initial post, I realize I typed "front" sight, when I meant to type "rear" sight.
Be very careful with either "Cheap" or for pistol scopes as Mosin will have significantly heavier recoil and will damage that scope fast.
