Never got into his style of music but saw him playing guitar at some event with other musicians, that boy could play! Never knew that.

I don't remember a lot from the 80s but I do remember seeing him in concert at the Garden. He was a great performer.

Prince was a bad *** guitar player. He obviously got soft during his R&B "artist formerly" phase. But the dude could still shred.

Lost ALL respect for him when he aligned himself with the BLM movement and wrote that song of martyrdom for Freddie Gray and Mike Brown. That was WEAK SAUCE.

So in closing, a pioneer for sure, legacy tainted by his BS politics and crappy new musical offerings.
