Boobs like this guy make all gun owners look like fools.

Some bad guy can just come up behind him and jack him in the head even if he's CC'ing and still take his wallet. He's not doing anything wrong, and is in compliance with the law. Why defend possible criminal activities against law abiding citizens? DO you think attractive women should be banned from wearing skimpy clothes? Someone might come up to them and do something bad as well. It's the CRIMINALS who need to be handled. Not law abiding citizens.Joe from NY said:That dude is a fool. Yeah, but most street robberies are face to face, not sneak up behind and strike. You know, the old "do you have a match?" or "Man, do you know what the time is?" Then when you look down, you hear "you know what this is, run your stuff." That sneak-up-behind scenario is more likely if the bad guy(s) see an opportunity to do an easy grab for some guy's firearm that he is advertising to the world that he has. Why should a bad guy pay $600 on the street for a piece of crap Lorcin, Davis, Raven, Bryco, Jennings, Hi-Point, etc... when he and his buddies can pounce on a nerdy looking guy with a Glock, Sig, S&W, etc... hanging off his hip and get it for free.Jimmy said:Some bad guy can just come up behind him and jack him in the head even if he's CC'ing and still take his wallet.
I am not defending criminal activities against law abiding citizens, my point is that from a tactical point of view, it is foolish to do anything that has the effect of evening the odds or leveling the playing field in the criminals' favor. We should be looking for every advantage we can get, and him not knowing if/when we are armed gives us an advantage that i can't see giving up.Jimmy said:He's not doing anything wrong, and is in compliance with the law. I absolutely agree... Some things are worth protesting about, and walking around in public doing certain things to get various political points across is generally cool, unless it has the potential to turn out deadly for you and yours. I believe this qualifies as one of those times.Jimmy said:It's the CRIMINALS who need to be handled. Not law abiding citizens.

Statistically, I don't think your assertions bear out- I think most criminals think it's too risky to make a gun grab- otherwise, why not gun grab from a cop, why buy guns on the black market instead? I also think black market guns cost less than you do-0 when I lived in the Bx and people tried to offer me black market guns (probably stolen too) the prices they were asking were pretty much commensurate with (used) retail. Several times somebody tried to sell me an illegal gun, the last one I remember was a nicel ,25ACP the guy wanted $140 for circa 1987 or 88.Joe from NY said:Yeah, but most street robberies are face to face, not sneak up behind and strike. In a convenience store or bank, the guy waiting on line with his gun hanging out will get disarmed first, and possibly be killed with his own gun in the process, whereas the guy with the concealed gun has the element of surprise on his side and can make a move when and if he sees the need to. Not having the bad guy(s) aware that you are armed can give you much more control of the situation. I believe it is pretty basic that you don't want to tip your hand in a dangerous situation such as this.

I think RhettButler addressed this point well above.Captain Will said:Statistically, I don't think your assertions bear out- I think most criminals think it's too risky to make a gun grab- otherwise, why not gun grab from a cop, why buy guns on the black market instead?
See this article about how a police U/C shot a bad guy who set him up for a robbery. The U/C had the element of surprise with a concealed gun. http://articles.nydailynews.com/201...cop-undercover-officer-black-market-gun-salesCaptain Will said:I also think black market guns cost less than you do-0 when I lived in the Bx and people tried to offer me black market guns (probably stolen too) the prices they were asking were pretty much commensurate with (used) retail.
