PA Sheriff Denny Nau

I had a question regarding my PA pistol permit so I sent an email to Sheriff Nau.
The personal reply I got was unbelievable! He started off with "Dear Steve" and not only proceeded to answer my question but also included a wealth of information regarding other states that recognize the PA out of state license even though that was not part of my question. He closed the email with "Happy Trails!, Denny"
I did thank him in my original email for being pro 2A and told him that living in NY, his stand on ccw is refreshing. The way he answered my email and signed it on a first name basis reinforced my belief that not all Chiefs of Police are liberal a-sholes, just the ones in NY. It was seriously refreshing to read it. Maybe LIF could start a "law enforcement officer of the year" category and I would nominate Sheriff Nau for that honor. It is refreshing to know that only a short drive out of NY and the US Constitution is alive and well.

You don't need to bump your own post after a few minutes. When it comes to Sheriff Nau I am sure he has more than a handful of supporters here. Bet we could even get a couple of hundred from the unnamed EBR forum to say the same thing. Just wish they gave a better permit (quality wise not carry wise cause full carry rocks) the piece of paper makes Nassaus licenses look hi-tech.

i called them the other day and the woman was very nice, she said they prefer if you fold it in half and then laminate it. so that's what i did.

There was a mistake on my PA license when I received it, I called up and spoke to 'Linda' (I think) who said to send it right back and they'd fix it.

Well, they fixed it and returned it right away, and the most impressive thing was the note she attached "Sorry for any inconvenience"

You'd never see an apology from anyone in NY PD...

definitely a thumbs up to sheriff Nau and his office!

I too am in awe of Sheriff Nau and the folks in his office.

I second that nomination!

And to Oh Uncle Paul, According to Nau's office, reducing the size of the license and then laminating it is perfectly acceptable.

I sent my application and three weeks later had the PA license in my hand.  Fast service.
