PA License in hand in 8 days

Mailed the app for my PA license 6/5, revd on 6/14, License to carry, Reason: Self Defense

Can't get more cut and dry than that.

So I'm a PA license noob. I went there and they handed me a handgun to use at the range with no requirements at all.  Can I possess a handgun in PA but not have it on my person without this? The real question is, what can one do without this permit concerning a handgun, in PA?

Congratulations,
Got mine a few monts ago. Took 8 days also.
I'm certain you can reduce the size and laminate it. I did mine to appx the size of my drivers license. Mine is from Centre County.

Centre County it is, I made a couple copies, I don't know how they expect that to last 5 years in a wallet...
good idea, I guess you could reduce and laminate, I just stuck a copy in and held onto the original.
Mailed the top two back last week...

As an out of state resident you do not need any license to possess or bring a handgun in PA. You do not need any license to open carry in PA. The restriction on open carry is unless you have a PA CCW you may not open carry while driving. I believe they work it as "practicing a privilaged activity" so it may involve more restrictions then just driving.
