Ohio man sentenced, gave teen gun used in slaying
CINCINNATI (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 23 years to life after giving a gun to a mentally challenged teen who fatally shot another man at a Cincinnati bus stop.
Twenty-five-year-old Mario Trollinger of Cincinnati was sentenced Wednesday on his conviction for murder, aggravated robbery and a weapons charge in 20-year-old Kevin Isaac's slaying. Authorities say Trollinger gave 16-year-old Ronnell Parks a gun and ordered him to rob Isaac, who was babysitting a child in a stroller Sept. 20. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that a prosecutor described Parks as a "simple-minded young man" who was also a victim.
Parks pleaded guilty last month to manslaughter and received a 13-year sentence.
Authorities say Parks lived at a treatment center for developmentally disabled youth in northern Ohio but had left to visit family.
