The stupidity continues in New York State:

The state of New York is forcing retailers, including Walmart and Amazon, to pay over $300,000 in fines for selling toy guns.

The state's attorney general sent a cease and desist letter to the retailers in December for breaking New York's strict laws against toy weapons, reported The Washington Free Beacon.

"State law prohibits the sale of imitation guns in realistic colors such as black, blue, silver, or aluminum, unless it has a non-removable one-inch-wide orange stripe running down both sides of the barrel and the front end of the barrel," according to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office.
In New York City, the laws are even stricter. All toy guns must be a neon color.

Several toy weapons companies, including ToyArsenal.com, now feature a disclaimer on their website. It reads, "New York Residents, Your State Now Prohibits The Sale of Toy Guns. Any NY Toy Gun Order will be cancelled."

The attorney general's office found it troubling that many of the toy guns were advertised as looking like real guns.

"Some of the toy guns discovered during the investigation are advertised as 'realistic looking' and 'full size. Since they lack the orange striping down both sides of the barrel as required under state law, these imitation assault rifles, shotguns, and pistols closely resemble dangerous weapons, and could be easily mistaken for real weapons by law enforcement and civilians alike," the office said.
Schneiderman's office blames toy guns for four deaths over the past 18 years in New York.

This isn't the first time New York has gone after toy gun retailers. In 2003, the former state's Attorney General Eliot Spitzer hit Walmart with a $200,000 fine.

Between 2001 and 2002, retailers including Rite-Aid and four Westchester County dollar stores, were fined a total of $69,500 for "failure to comply fully with the state's toy gun law" and other "toy gun law violations."

And why should ANY business anywhere do anything to comply with the bass-ackward laws of this Liberal-infested craphole? 1 state out of 50?

Maybe when all businesses stop dealing with the concentrated idiocy that NY politicians spew forth every single day and New York State is as fiscally annihilated as Detroit, the people will finally pull their collective heads out of their collective bungholes and get started on putting this state in order.

Personally, I won't be holding my breath.

[sup]When we grew up the whole point of a toy gun was for it to look as real as possible, my Mattel Six shooter loaded realistic looking bullets, my Johnny Eagle 1911 had a slide that racked, and terror of all terrors my Remco bazooka actually launched projectiles. Nobody ever got shot with toy gun, nobody ever got shot for playing with a toy gun, I now have a new name for these politicians courtesy of the spell check on my wife's Iphone, they are all asshooks.[/sup]

problem is dumb parents just hand it over to a kid because its a toy. in most instances a officer sees the kid and the kid treats it as a toy and points it at the officer. i remember my dad when i was kid and he gave me a cap gun telling me never to point it at a stranger or anyone i did not know. he also never let us play outside the backyard with them.

You blame the businesses?
If it were my business I'd probably put a big page on my website saying,
New York residents; We will not send anything to a liberal sinkhole like New York.
While we feel sorry for you that you live in such a ridiculous socialist cesspool, that's your choice.
Ours is to not waste our time dealing with the Nazis and their insanity that the people of New York elect.
