I made a trip to campsite yesterday to pick up a new toy.

Remington 700 sps varmint TH MZ
20" barrel FLTD 308 WIN 1 in 10' twist
Beavertail stock with OM

I will post some pic's later when I get home from work.

I need to put a harris bipod and a nice scope on it. I am
also looking into putting a surefire Brake on it too.

Check with a friendly FFL before installing a Surefire brake.
From what I understand, any brake that can easily take a suppressor would be illegal
in NYS.

Rem 700 is a bolt rifle. Brake restrictions do not apply

Well here is the picture

I went with a harris bi pod and a blackhawk rail. for the time being I went with a Baska 6x24. 60 scope. The rings that came with it are shit. I hope it holds up for a visit or two to the range. Next mod will be a surefire Brake.

Well I took it to Brookhaven today to try and sight it in. I only had about an hour to shoot due having to work. I took about 20 shots at 50 yards on a nice windy morning. I feel I have it to a ok group. 5 shots in a quarter size is not bad. I still need to get use to this gun . I've been shooting an Ar-15 for a few years and to get back into shooting a bolt action rifle after about it 10 year break is going to take some time.

Too bad... I have one of these Remys too. Shooting
175gr Sierra Match HPBT through it gives me the best
results - holes in holes at 100yrds. SubMOA at 200yrds.

I'd probably post my write-up on it one day, opinions
and shot results. This rifle is basically a tactical Remy
Police.

Don't know if you knew, you could've gotten a $50
rebate from Remington on this rifle too.

Peace,
