Got an e-mail from my dad this morning about the PA State Game Lands shooting ranges. For those who don't know, they are a great resource: well-maintained, usually with plenty of targets at 25/50/100/200 and in some cases 300/400 yards, and free. My family has been shooting on them (in Carbon County) for generations, and anytime I shot anything in a rifle caliber as a kid it was there.

They're not free anymore. There's now a $30 annual fee, which is reasonable if unfortunate (but you're allowed to bring a guest for free). If you shoot at least twice a year there, it's the same price as Calverton ;) You can pay online and print it out at home/work.

Here's the link for the new policy announcement: http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt?open=514&objID=937842&mode=2
