Well at least it wasn't a pop tart in the shape of a bomb. I think the liberals have officially become scared of their own shadows.

[background=rgb(241, 243, 242)]Ahmed Mohamed is a ninth-grader in Irving, Texas, who likes to tinker with electronics. On Monday, according to the Dallas Morning News, he built a simple electronic clock - a project he said took about 20 minutes - and strapped it inside a pencil case.[/background]
[background=rgb(241, 243, 242)]He showed the project to his engineering teacher, who praised the design but advised him not to show it to other teachers. Later, in Ahmed's English class, the clock beeped while it was in his bag. When he showed the project to his teacher, she thought it looked like a bomb.[/background]
[background=rgb(241, 243, 242)]He insisted that the clock wasn't a bomb, but the authorities at the school weren't impressed:[/background]

The teacher kept the clock. When the principal and a police officer pulled Ahmed out of sixth period, he suspected he wouldn't get it back.
They led Ahmed into a room where four other police officers waited. He said an officer he'd never seen before leaned back in his chair and remarked: "Yup. That's who I thought it was."
Ahmed felt suddenly conscious of his brown skin and his name - one of the most common in the Muslim religion. But the police kept him busy with questions.
"They were like, 'So you tried to make a bomb?'" Ahmed said.
"I told them no, I was trying to make a clock."
"He said, 'It looks like a movie bomb to me.'"

[background=rgb(241, 243, 242)]According to the Dallas Morning News, the police arrested Ahmed and led him out of school in handcuffs. His school gave him a three-day suspension, and police are still investigating the incident.[/background]

That is just ridiculous that they even had the call the police. He could have just asked the electronics teacher to come and confirm it was a project. seems like a good smart kid in the video.

they just created a future liberal democrat.

here is a pic of my college electronics course project back in 2009, one of the most fun classes i ever had other than auto shop. a motion activated christmas light controler. i carried this all over campus and two classes before electronics class. Guess its another thing we cant have these days. If i hit the switch it would have cycled the relays and made all sorts of clicking sounds, flashing LEDs and scary stuff when someone walked by it and accelerating as time moved on. yet this kid made a clock and got in trouble?

Electrical wiring Electronic engineering Musical instrument Audio equipment Gas
Bottle Liquid Light Solution Automotive lighting

what next? a ban on burner phones? ban on all shop/technology/engineering courses?

This is stupid. At the same age my buddy and I made a still for our science project. To quote my science teacher.... "It is not vodka, but it is not bad either!"

Let us just go ahead and squash all creativity in our kids!!!!!

When I was a kid I had those kits they sold in stores. Erector set , chemistry kit and electronics kit. I must have been a terrorist but just didn't know it !
This is ridiculous, the smug Jackass who said "Yup, that's who I thought it was" should get the Barney Fife Award

I have to disagree with gopedxr7. They didn't create a future liberal democrat.
On the contrary, they may have created a future conservative.

I think no matter what race, religion, whatever, the liberal ( most likely) teacher idiot would have been scared and done the same thing.
I don't think it was because he's Muslim. I think it's because too many liberal teachers today are idiots and scared of their own shadow.
Had a Jewish kid drawn a picture of a water pistol the teacher most likely would have reacted the same way.

this is what happens when you don't attack the real source of the problem. Expect this to happen more & more as much of citizenry feels that their government is either complicit with the enemy or doesn't have the rectitude to fight the enemy. Either way, the government's principle occupation is to protect the citizenry & they have failed on the one principle from which we can all agree.

I can see that look as well and agree, teacher was an idiot.

my take was I also see democrats pointing fingers at the "ultra-conservative white racist texas population" to blame for this incident as with every race issue

Isn't that the whole purpose of common core, to create drone sheep who do as they're told and not think?

If "The People" are going to expect a certain level of "safety" then we will have to become a police state, setting aside personal freedoms and rights in order to achieve that level of "safety". People will be presumed guilty based upon fear instead of fact and one will have to prove their innocence.
