I'm new to this board and have never owned a weapon, but have finally made the decision to purchase a home defense weapon, so forgive if my inquiry seems novice.
My friends with home defense weapons have suggested the Mossberg 500 Pistol grip. I have shot this before on one occasion at the Calverton range and didn't seem to have any problem with controlling the weapon.
After visiting some local shops over the past few days, I've been advised that the 590 Tactical with the adjustable stock is more appropriate, and i seem to agree so I am leaning towards this model.
I've looke at the store catalogs, and saw thay have a model with 8 rounds. I've been to 1 store that has it in stock, but its the 6 round model (5 +1) .
I like the idea of the extra 2 rounds, and the Flex also holds 8 rounds, so right now i like both and would purchase either model but it seems these fly off the shelves and no one has in stock. I've seen the 590 with a standard stock but i don't like that style.
Any suggestions where to purchase or other advise would be appreciated.
Thanks.
