I think someone posted this question before but I didn't follow up on it.

I need a scope to put on my mosin but i still wanna see the iron sights. I only need a scope that would be good for 200-250yds. If possible one that i could take off fairly easily.

You could get one of these...

These are chinese made copy's of the Mosin Mount made for ak/sks rifles.
You can mount one of these on a Mosin and you dont have to have the bent bolt
However you get next to no cheek weld on the rifle because of the height of the mount.....
With that being said...If you need one I have an extra....

From what I have read, you can go the cheap/easy route and have a poor, shakey mount or you can do the proper/expensive thing which probably will require a bent bolt (you can modify yours). But I don't have any personal experience with this, I've just seen enough anecdote to decide that I'm not going to try any of the "scout scope"/long-eye-relief setups.

Easy fix..... Scout set up

Step one
Knock out/off rear sight... underneath will be a 3/8 dovetail cut in the barrel(same as a 22 mount)

Step two
Buy a set of 22 scope rings and a cheap NcStar pistol scope total $50 for both

Step three
Mount and shoot...... It works

However you need a torch to remove the rear sight
Other than that its a quick and easy way to get optics on your mosin

I did that and it works very well. The only way to retain the iron sights is to use the MN repro sight and scope, but you have to drill and tap the receiver. Its a project requires a machine shop since the drilling and tapping have to be done fairly precisely.
Removing the rear sight from the MN is not as easy as it sounds. I broke three steel punches, before taking a Dremel to the rear sight.
