Maybe he can go write his shrill anti-gun propaganda for Everyclown for Tyranny.

The bloodbath has begun at the Daily News.

Long-time columnist Mike Lupica is among those who are heading out the door, as owner Mort Zuckerman desperately swings his cost-cutting ax, The Post has learned.

Lupica, one of the highest-paid editorial employees on the staff of the troubled tabloid, was personally recruited in the mid-1990s by the 78-year-old owner after New York Newsday was shut down and the sports columnist was out of a job for a day.

Lupica balked at a low-ball contract offer lobbed at him by Zuckerman, according to sources, and is expected to depart when his current deal expires this year.

His impending exit is a strong indication that even decades-long friends of Zuckerman cannot survive the relentless cost-cutting amid swelling losses.

Teri Thompson, the troubled tabloid's managing editor/sports, was cut loose Tuesday evening.

Also getting her walking papers was morning assignment editor Jill Coffey, a longtime veteran at Zuckerman's embattled daily, sources said. She said her farewells to shocked colleagues Wednesday morning, sources said.

The paper's once-proud sports section was hard hit Wednesday when two other veteran columnists - Filip Bondy and Bill Madden - were cut. Sports was generally spared under previous cost-cutting efforts.

Insiders are bracing for half a dozen more names to exit sports and perhaps more than three dozen across the paper.

The circulation-challenged paper, in the midst of a huge cost-cutting move, confirmed last week that Colin Myler, the editor in chief for the past 3½ years, was being replaced by executive editor Jim Rich.

The paper's average daily print circulation has plunged more than 40 percent under Myler's watch, to just 239,183 as of March 2015, according to the Alliance for Audited Media - with more than half those lost readers walking away in the last year.

The cutbacks come after Zuckerman pulled the money-losing tabloid off the sale block last month after failing to get a single bid.

The tabloid, which he picked up out of bankruptcy in 1993, is estimated to be losing close to $30 million a year.

Lupica is another NY elitist douche not rooted in the "real world". Now, the problem with many of these people and young hipsters is they can't imagine a world outside their smug ivory tower, they know nothing of other lifestyles and men who use tools like guns, do things themselves, and believe in self defense. These are the guys I'd love to watch during a SHTF scenario. They are not men.

Is this a "man" that inspires other men? What would he know about 2A and the self-responsibility of protecting one's own and liberty. And don't ever trust anyone with sneakers that white.

The only problem is that now he will have more time to devote to his uninformed and non-sensical anti-gun rants.

Lupica knows nothing about tools. Y'know, aside from being one.

He also just lost his ESPN radio show! http://blog.timesuni...-station/16597/

Bwahaahhahahahahaha. May have to stop hanging out with Bloomberg and Stern in the Hamptons. Hey, I hear the Town Pool in Hempstead is nice in the summer.

The Mike Lupica Show," which originated from ESPN New York and had been simulcast locally on WTMM(104.5 FM) since November, has been taken off the air, Newsday reported. Lupica's show, according to Newsday, was getting clobbered in the ratings in the New York market by Mike Francesa's show on WFAN.

ETA: No gunowner should spend dime one on the Daily News.
