Very similar experience I reported in December 2023 at Palmetto State Armory in Georgia when they wouldn't sell me a straight up standard NY compliant carbine. Concerned about what happens after a sale to someone from NY and getting sued by NYS. They are happy to ship to a NY FFL, but that defeats the purpose of being there in person and not having to pay for shipping and FFL fees.
