Meopta

This year I took on a position at Meopta USA. I am trying to feel out the exposure to Meopta products on Long Island. If you have been exposed to it what you think of our glass? I'm also here to assist anybody who has any technical optical questions, if I don't have the answer I have plenty of colleagues who do. I want to make it clear that I am not trying to promote our product just check exposure among peers. If any one could point me who to speak to regarding being a LIF sponsor.

Thanks guys ;) ;)

To be honest, I have never heard of Meopta USA.  Any information you can provide beyond just linking us to a website?
Bought a pair at a local gun show last year, terrific glass...
Meopta is a Czech based company who has been around for 70ish years, came to the USA about ten years ago and has been trying to infiltrate the American market.  We have industry leading light transmission per lens surface and amazing glass clarity. I'd honestly put us up against any $1000 plus scope or bino.  I don't want to sound like a sales pitch I'm just trying to put feelers out. Our website is www.meoptasportsoptics.com. Feel free to ask any questions I spend a majority of weekends at Calverton range if anyone wishes to look down range.
Never heard of it before.  Can't see the site because I use an iPad and you need flash to view it.
I have a Meostar 1-4x Kdot. The glass is bright and the scope is solid. Rate Meopta glass above Leupold, though I think the Leupold 1-4x optic is a bit better designed for 3-gun use.

Just wish the scope was a bit shorter and lighter. Heard there is a new model comming out that addresses this. Plus the service/distrubution center is on LI I think.
beta tester available ;)
Meopta glass is rumored to be used for Zeiss Conquest scopes. Glass is good and would rate better than Leupold.

I'm glad to see some responses here. First on the Zeiss rumor...we are an OEM manufacturer, always have been. Rumors are always out there, Zeiss is a great company who makes an awesome product.  Second, on the k-dot we now have our shorter lighter zd, also features new ergonomic turrets and ballistic reticle. Check out CS tactical for video review of product.  Third on the M-rad sight, there is a few in the US and by few I mean they all live in my gun safe. I'm not 100% when we can release it. I'm also looking to import some of our more tactical scopes i have a few samples of the 3-12x50 zd in v-dot and mil dot, these should do well in the US market.  I'm looking to start development on a new product, if there's anything you guys want to see from us all comments will be entertained.
No dealer on LI but if there's something anyone needs pm me.

Does Meopta makes glass for Zeiss and many other high end companies. I understand there was a small push to introduce Meopta scopes here in NY a few years ago. One of the local dealers had a few that he sold that were defective and customer service was an issue. Hope those issues have been corrected.
The 3-12x50 is a one inch or 30mm tube? What is the price point of the optic?
And, yes you will see responses...especially if you screw up.... ;D
On the making glass topic, there are a few companies worldwide that actually make glass, meopta is not one of them we use primarily Schott and Ohara glass, I think they use the same.  From what I understand there was a push a few years ago by a rep that we no longer deal with.  If there is any issues with product you will call and speak with me and I personally see that returns are handled as fast as possible.  We are often at the mercy of the Czech Parent company for supply but 2012 is looking to be a great year.  The ZD line is 30mm tube 1st focal plane inside of $1300, I can probally get permission to deal direct with LIF members until we set some dealers up.  At which point I should be somewhat flexible on numbers, I can also meet members at the range to try before you buy.
I would like to see an acog 2 power equivalent without the 1000 dollar price tag.

Or even better, a sub 1k price tag. If the company doesn't need to invent it, much of the R+D costs are a non issue and subsequently the price should be lower even still.
The problem with making an ACOG is the tritium sights from what i understand the licensing is an issue.  but its something to look at. the sub 1k is an issue for anything US or European made/engineered.  Development is expensive, the pricing of just developing a MIL DOT reticle is a few grand.
