AMHERST, Mass. - A man wearing a Bob Dylan backstage pass who ordered 178 pizzas from a Massachusetts pizza parlor but never picked them up has agreed to hand over the dough.

A lawyer for the New Jersey man says his client is a "decent enough" guy with no criminal record who felt bad about the prank.

Attorney Sean Cleary did not reveal his client's name and did not say how much he'll repay. The pizzas he ordered were worth about $4,000.

Workers at Antonio's in the college town of Amherst stayed until 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 20 making the pies. The man ordered them shortly after a Dylan concert at the nearby University of Massachusetts.

He said he would return in several hours and deliver them to Dylan's crew. But he never returned and the manager called police.

Some pizzas were given away, but most were thrown out.

Wow, what a jerk. That's really not even funny, that's just mean...
I did some thing like that when I was about 12 or 13 ordered a dozen pies and had them delivered to the guy across the street from me it was about 7 pm I had to work for the pizza place for two weeks after school and on the week end till I payed him off with tip needless to say I never did that again

$22.47 FOR EACH PIZZA??? Now THAT is not funny. Did the bag of coke rip open in the flour shipment?

That's exactly what I was thinking.....what kind of pizza costs $22.47 ?
And what type a business/pizza would go ahead and make 178 pizzas without any kind of down payment?
Yea, if I had an order for 178 pizzas I'm definitely not laying out that amount of money in product until I have a guarantee that I'm actually getting paid. Those are some pretty pricey pies though too, they cost the pizzeria $22.47 each in labor and product? I can't even think of a pizza I could order that would cost that much to make.

It does remind me of some old Don Imus skit I once heard that I think he did in the 70's, where he calls up a McDonalds to order 2000 hamburgers or something. He didn't actually place the order though.
It's mean, but really, the pizzeria owner doesn't exactly sound like a savvy businessman.
I happen to know this pizzeria in Amherst. Tiny place, with only 4 tables for seating. One of the best slices of pizza I have ever tasted. SMALL BUSINESS, these guys work their tails off. Amherst is not NY, they are very trusting up there. This guy took advantage of the business. Owners should have taken a credit card deposit but they were probably so excited about a chance of fame for 10 minutes that they did not think. Prankster  should pay.........Place is extremely popular with Amherst students. Everyone knows the place. :spank
A pie with 2 toppings is right around 20 bucks at pretty much every place by me.
After all this talk about pizza im getting hungry
But if it cost you $22.47 to make a pie, then you'd be selling that pie for maybe a little over $30, I can't think of a pie I could order for $30 unless I ordered a specialty pie and then added even more toppings.

I'd pay $30 for a custom pie...I'd want it topped with bacon wrapped filet mignon, with no cheese, no sauce & no crust... ;D
