I was wondering if anyone here is a Mac Genius. My MacBook has developed some issues so to speak, and I was wondering if there was someone who's brain I could pick for a few.
I think the Logic Board on my laptop. From my what I have found online my macbook is exhibiting the common symptoms of that. Is there a way to find out if it is the case without having to crack open my laptop.
without knowing the symptoms it's tough to even venture a guess. FWIW, the logic board on mine when a few years ago and thanks to google, I basically told the "genius" that's what it was. Does it boot at all? Can you boot of a recovery drive?
i'd take it apart either way and blow out any dust/crap with some compressed air. If there are pets/dust in your work area, that could clog stuff up and if air can't get through then it may heat up. Do you fans rev up due to the heat? If so.. that will greatly reduce your battery life.
Yeah the fans are revving up like crazy. I will open it up and give it a good cleaning, and see if that helps to resolve some issues. I need to get a new charger now too. Ugh money money money.
yeah.. i just got a new charger on Monday. Thankfully, you can just buy the brick and reuse the plug to save a few bucks. Also make sure you buy the right charger.. if it doesn't have enough power, it can affect battery life.
Frankly - I'm someone who is personally offended by the devaluation of the word "genius" in these poor people's job titles.
That in mind - do what you can to clean out the air pathways with a good can of air spray or even a shop hose.
