Leupold Scope difference

I just picked up a Leupold 4.5-14X50mm LR/T M1 scope for a fantastic price.
But Does anybody know the differences between the LR and the ER series?
Checking the specs I can only find minor differences in the FOV
BTW I paid $1024 for it.. Anybody?

I cant believe that in two days and with all the extremely knowledgable people type persons here, nobody posted an answer yet!
Steve,

The big difference is in the FOV, as the LR = Long Range and the ER= Extended Range.

Either way, they are great pieces of glass.

You bought it at a good price BTW, enjoy.
Thats what I thought.
According to the specs the ER had a slightly less FOV than the LR
I got it from SkyOptics.com
They had great prices on ALL the Leupold scopes.
the scope you got is a fine scope 1/4 moa. is it front/ first focal or not ?. I think that the ER scope is all first focal. what recticale did you get?? I was considering one also but ended up with some thing different. that sit on the M1A
I kind of favor the duplex reticle
I'm not sure if it is front focal or not
Specs didn't say.
I'll have it tommorrow so I guess I'll find out

first focal is for range estimations so that you can change the power on the scope and the recticle size changes with it. without first focal you can only range at a specific power -useally 10x or full power. first focal= expensive

duplex should have a wide and narrow part of the crosshairs . you need to find out what the distance between the points is and what power and distance it relates to.
Thanks Gene
I should have it via ups by the time I get home today
I'll let you know tommorrow.
