Last Call for Sheriff Nau and message to all membe

Guys,
We are coming up on the deadline for contributing to the re-election of Sheriff Nau.
I am Fedexing him the donations on Wednesday morning, April 27.

I want to remind all of you to donate through us and not through paypal if at all possible. We want to show a unified effort on behalf of ALL of our members. Donating through Paypal will not let him know you are a member here and he will not receive the full amount you donate as Paypal deducts a service charge.

I will be updating the contributors list on the other thread as soon as I get home to count the day's take in today's mail somewhere around 7 P.M.

Most members have included a short note to me, some thanking me for undertaking this and some apologizing that they couldn;t give more.

First let me say, it was a pleasure to do it. Point one is that Sherriff Nau is a good man who truly beleives in the 2nd amendment and more important than just beleif, he has put his money where his mouth is. As New Yorkers, it is very rare that we see any politician or licensing agent that has been as forthcoming as the Sheriff. That is to be appreciated. Many of us have LTC that have been issued by his office regardless of the fact if our basic NY license is restricted or not. His is the ONLY Sheriff's office in all of Pennsylvania that does this. We have to remember that in unity there is strength. Despite the fact he is an out of state licensing agent, he has done for us more than our own licensing agents have done or will do. He deserves our support. The people of his county may take for granted the LTC issued by him because they are used to having thier issuing agents respect the 2nd amendment. We, herein NY cannot take it for granted. It is for that reason we felt necessary to help support Sheriff Nau's re-election campaign. In the many years I have been involved with gun rights i can tell you from experience, support those that support you, because in the long run, you win.

The second point is that some members have contributed more than others. Please don't apologize. In the first place, in today's economy money is tight all around and very few of us are in the position to have large amounts of discretionary disposable funds. But whether you contributed a large amount or a small amount, it is the fact that you did contribute. And that show of support sometimes really means more than the dollar amount.

I want to thank all those that have contributed up to now and those whose check is in the mail to me.
I will be sending the funds via FEDEX OVERNIGHT on Wednesday morning. I will post the tracking number for all of you who wish to track it. I may not be able to post it until Wednesday evening, but it will be posted along with the total amount collected.
