Illinois proposes surtax on ammo

An Illinois lawmaker has proposed a surtax on ammo sales to fund areas with high volume gun crimes.......Another wonderful idea from brain dead politicians!

He has the right idea only the wrong product.
There should be a surtax on Rap music sales, expensive sneakers, pants that don't fit, and gold teeth.
And a HUGE surtax on televisions. Lets not forget automobiles. You can't have a driveby without an automobile. If all cars were registered there would be no drivebys!

I don't get it where is this money going to go what will it be spent on. People are killing each other, we need money logic?

Well that makes perfect sense, if it cost of ammo is to high to off your rival gang members then they will just stop!   ??)

How about solving some quality of life issues and attracting employers to the state.

Its the basic politician government philosophy: Any crisis can be used to generate money whether it helps or not.
They'll probably use it to add a new agency.

Maybe if the bullets were so expensive the gangs would not spray the streets. They might be more inclined to make well placed shots which would in turn reduce the number of stray rounds and thus save innocent bystanders.
