Hello gentlemen,

I figured fellow cigar afficinados may be able to answer this question for me. I bought a personalized humidor for my best man for my upcoming wedding. The seam back by the hinge appears wider then any other humidor I own (see attached photo). The company assures me it is fine and I can return it but at my own cost of shipping and a possible restocking fee. So before I go through the hassel of arguing with them I thought I would get your opinions. Thanks guys.

OP, can you post some pics of how it looks on the inside?

Did you try seeing if it holds humidity? It's the inner fit that really matters. The only real way is to put in a humidifier unit, and see if it holds the humidity as long as your other humidors.

I'm a coolerdor guy using a deep dish of 60% beads in a medium size cooler.

By no means does my cooler have a airtight seal.

I refill my beads every other month or so (and that's with the cooler being stored in a dehumidifed to 45% basement.

I can't imagine that gap will cause much of a issue with excess humidity leakage.

I think you'll be just fine.

Just season it and get it running

It will swell a little and should seal
