Question Gents.....

Does any Gunsmith on Long Island do Parkerizing (Manganese Phosphate Finishing)? I have a Stevens 520-30 trenchgun with little finish left and getting tired of it turning Orange everytime I take it to the woods upstate.

For the same money you could buy a used slug gun and keep your classic innthe safe and original condition.

Parkerizing is one of those things you can do at home since parkerizing is done in hot water about 180-190 degrees, soak for ten minutes and your done. But everything must be taken apart and sand blasted for parkerizing to work, so I'm thinking jarheadsergeant has the better idea for this gun.

I'd love to hear more specifics on this, too. I have some old magazines and baseplates that I'd like to parkerize at home (or a smith if it's too involved) to match up with my newer ones.

I do cerakote and molyresin. Unsure if I would try this
