While this is a story where the homeowner wins, the most amazing part of the stort to me is the following:
"Heroin user Ingram - described as a "one-man crimewave" - was jailed for three years after admitting burglary at Southampton Crown Court. He had 32 previous convictions"

32 prior convictions?
3 year sentence?

That's good news.+1 for granny
Surprised the cops didn't nick her for assaulting him................and he'll only do 18 months anyway, then back out on the street to start again. See something wrong here?
33 is the magic #. I'm sure he'll be rehabilitated THIS time. 34 yrs old and 32 priors. Interesting. The paper work probably took longer than this dirtbag was in prison. But its societies fault. He's a heroin user. If only all heroin was banned and made illegal then no one would have any.

AHHH! In NYS the granny would have been prosecuted for assault, and sued by the dirtbag. If the granny would have hit him in the wrong spot and killed him she would be looking at an involuntary manslaughter charge!
The question is: if he went through the glass window while escaping, and cut his jugular (wishful thinking) and dropped dead, would granny face charges of any type?
