Going Shooting in Connecticut ??

Hi,

I am taking my wife and a friend to Shooters Pistol Range in Connecticut to morrow. Yesterday, I called to inquire if I need a reservation, but I was also told that without a Connecticut license, I can't bring my guns, even if I "lock-box" them. This morning, I called back to ask if my Utah or Pennsylvania license held any weight, and I was told that I in fact could carrey in a "lock box". Great !! Who do I believe. The guy who said I could ?? Or the guy who said I couldn't ?? And, being that today is Saturday, I can't call the licensing bureau for clarification.

I'll probably err on caution and leave my guns at home, but can anyone point me to some clarification ??

By the way, this law in NY about non-licensees being able to even hold a gun is one of my biggest pet peeves.

Dont take my word on it but I think you need a CT permit in order to CCW in CT.  And your Utah permit would only work in CT if you were a resident of CT.  I have my CT permit for that reason.

Ct. State Police? My brother got his license yesterday and I believe all his dealings had been with The state cops.

Connecticut doesn't recognize NY you need to apply for a CT Non resident permit.Takes about a month to get good for 5 years.New Hampshire and Maine can also be done by mail.

I'm not looking to CCW. I'm looking to "Lock-Box" carry. I got 2 conflicting responses.

I called the State Police and they referred me to an office that's closed today.
