I didn't know they had a German chapter. The police even shot his dog in the raid.

Police have raided dozens of properties across northern Germany as part of a major investigation into the Hell's Angels motorcycle club, reports say.

The operation targeted 80 properties, including brothels and pubs.

It also involved a raid by counter-terror police on the house of the leader of the Hell's Angel chapter in the city of Hanover.

The suspected crimes being investigated include people- and arms trafficking, prosecutors said.

The investigation, which also covers alleged cases of bodily harm and corruption, is primarily aimed at the Hell's Angels chapter in the northern city of Kiel, they said.

A court ordered the chapter to be closed earlier this year.

Police are also looking for a corpse thought to be that of an ethnic Turkish man who crossed the bikers, German newspapers report.

The raid on the Hanover home of the Hell's Angels' leader in the city, Frank Hanebuth, involved the elite GSG 9 tactical police unit.

Officers armed with machine-guns and wearing balaclavas broke down a heavy wooden front gate and abseiled from a helicopter to gain entry to the property, media reports say.

They are also reported to have shot a dog belonging to Mr Hanebuth.............cont............

They have a strong presence in several European countries as do other 1% clubs.

Also, Australia, the original outlaw continent, which has a very active mix of 1% MCs.

There is also a big Scandinavian problem with the OMG's.

I bnever realy understood the idolatry lauded on these groups by some, I kinda agree with warmfuzzyar above. But suffice it to say we have sucessfully exported our gangsta and outlaw biker cultures to other contries.

Who's "we"? Are you taking collective responsibility on behalf of someone?

WE all need to take responsibility. You sure don't find me in any "Outlaw Biker Gang" or "Gangsta Posse", but if WE and YES that's collectively, support these sorts of subcultures and create a whole culture of idolization/lore around them (Rap Music labels, Sons of Anarchy, etc.) then they spread top other countries, what do you think the perceptions of the law abiding people of those other countries are in terms of how they view "Americans"?

Hells Angels, Pagans, Outlaws, Disciples, etc all have chapters around the world.
As Capt Will said, Scandaniva has a fairly significant presence.

I was watching a show yesterday on Discovery about an MC club, the guys with the red devil head, it's seems a bit silly, like something I would be into as a teen ager, but a lot of the members are ex-military, and I learned that a lot of these MC clubs were started by returning WWII vets "chopping" military surplus motorcycles, for which the term "chopper" was born.

WE have a lot of members here who ride bikes, and have tattoos. Does that make them bikers ?? With or without the tattoos, a resounding YES.

Does that make them outlaws ? Gangstas ? Absolutely not. Now, if some of them also happen to be outlaws, well then that will make them outlaws.

I'm honestly not even sure what you wrote was intended to mean?

If Snoop Dogg was not a dope smoking pornographer pandering to kids, then even with the stupid-looking gold chins hwe would still be just a rapper, not a Gangsta Rapper. And if Big Lurch had not killed his GF, cut her open and cannibalized her he would not be a murderer.

I had a motorcycle (two, actually) many years ago, Been to Laconia, Sturgis, daytona, etc. I harbor no ill will for people that ride motorcycles. Ditto for tattos- I think it's pretty foolish to get one and I'd try to talk my kid out of it (esp my daughter, thank heavens I'll be spared that scenario) but if you want one, I have no issue with that. If you want to tattoo your face like Mike Tyspon, well, i still have no problem with you but can't really say I respect your decision a whole lot- then again, it's YOUR face.

Now when your tatoo-faced butt is sitting on your bike outside my kids school slinging meth, we have got a problem.

Does that answer your question?

a number of GI's returning from WWII had difficulty settling down after their experiences and from this was born the biker culture of non-conforming. The violence, etc came years later.

I like how one Turkish immigrant gets killed and the German police tear the whole gang's organization to shreds.

Good work!

The German law enforcement authorities, although in some ways much more tolerant than here, take a very dim view of any kind of organized crime activity, especially those posing any risk of physical harm to the general public. This operation is typical of the approach. A long, painstaking investigation, then massive, coordinated, simultaneous action at multiple locations at once. They have a certain ancestral predisposition (ahem) for that sort of thing. Their view of due process is somewhat different than ours, also.

Why do many of your posts seem to blame America for many of the worlds problems? What about organized crime that came here from other parts of the world? Italian, Russian, Jewish, Chinese, organized crime "families" have caused a great deal of problems in this country over the years. Or did that start after Hollywood released the Godfather?

Regardless, the Hells Angels are a motorcycle club not a "Gang" or "Gangsta Posse".
