First Time Bow Hunting On L.I.

I've been hunting since I was 12 but finally got my bow license over the winter. My 2 friends (also licensed bow hunters) and I were looking for tips/recommendations for places to hunt in Suffolk. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

best thing to do is go to the ridge check station and they can help you with a spot to hunt theres no charge for huntng

Yep, and as I recall a kinda expensive permit on top of the hunting license/tags... dunno if it's worth it.

It's $35 for the county pass. You have to go to the east end to make it worth while. Parking spots fill up fast and lots of pressure on deer with so many hunters.

you can hunt the state land for free. Goto the check staion in ridge. They can give you info, most of the spots you have to sing in to hunt. Some further out east you dont need to tho, you can also check the dec wbsite and find some info.
