I don't think it will be bad for public relations for gun owners except that guns were used. This guy is what appears to be one of those "88" groups. But he took his domestic dispute anger out on others from what I read. Plus, it happened in Arizona so emotions are still fresh.

I think that shooting the 50% ugly 16 month old pushes it into hate crime.

Lose the guilty conscience. Just because he was a gun owner, and I'm a gun owner, doesn't mean he has anything to do with me. As a demographic and segment of the population, gun owners are among the most law-abiding citizens.
