I am currently looking to buy a red dot and have narrowed it down to three. The bushnell holo sight , an eotech clone , or sightmark's ultra shot reflex sight. If anyone has had experience with any of these products please give me your opinions or experiences. I would love to buy an eotech but for that price I will buy another gun. The sightmark is $120 the clone is $100 and the bushnell is $230. I appreciate andy help feedback or suggestions thanks.

Save up some more money and get the real deal. Itll pay itself off in the long run.
I have a higher end bushnell - I think there are 3 models - I paid $325

I also owned a eotech 516 for a while. I would say that they were almost identical - maybe even favoring the bushnell.

Never used a clone.

But in all honesty - find someone that has one and try it out - it takes getting used to.
I owned all three of them. IMHO the sightmark never held zero for more then one full range trip. The bushnells are grate for the money but don't seam to last. Mine made it under the 2 year mark and a friends barely lasted over a year. Kinda upsetting for the cash. The clones are hit and miss if you buy a good all metal one they hold zero and take recoil well. the cheaper ones aren't even suit able for air soft. I have one a 9mm carbine and its holding zero after 800 rds. Very happy with it. good luck.
The Bushnell isn't a clone. Same optic with slightly different features.

For clones I always recommend Primary Arms optics. They have held up for me for several years. Marsh stands behind his products. The PA M3 clone is around $69, I've had two of them on several rifles over the past 5-6 years. These are not on par with EOtechs and Aimpoints but works well for range guns.
i appreciate all the feedback guys. I have ruled out the sightmark and any clones now im thinking wich eotec. I have used one before and loved it but I dont know anything about them. Maybe I will save my money and get an one instead of the bushnell, mostly because I keep seeing that the bushnell is no longer warrantied and to spend $200 with no kind of security makes me a little uneasy. What kind of warranty does the eotech have and what model should I look at? It will be switched between most of my guns .22 12g .556 .762. Thanks again everyone.
The 512 can be found for good prices. I sold two mint ones this year for $300 each, and they use common AA batteries. The 511 batteries don't last as long, cost more, and are more difficult to find. Skip the night vision models, unless you really plan on purchasing night vision.
Just checked eotech sight and they only have a 2 year warranty. I have been reading some more on the new sightmark and I think it may be what I buy for now. I can get one for $105 shipped with a lifetime warranty. I have been reading alot of reviews on the newer gen models and the reviews are amazing for $100 if it dosent take the big rounds I can get it replaced and sell it or put it on my 15-22. Hey vin I appreciate the feed back was wondering was the sightmark that you had a newer model?
Thanks ar guy gonna start looking
I have the sightmark ultrashot for my indoor 9mm rifle. Although the sightmark looks well built, the side shield (aluminum) got bent during the transport and cracked the window.
It is still functional, but the location of the red dot shifted in 2 o'clock position.
I just grabbed the eotech 512 with the magnifier from the primary arms.
I say "Buy once, cry once, and smile everyday!" :)
I have a bushnell trophy 1x32 and love it, its a acog clone but the quality is great. I also have a older hakko tacpoint aimpoint clone, those were pretty good for the money too but nothing compared to the bushnell.
Vortex strikefire is about $150 and has a lifetime warranty
I just purchased a eotech from Chesters today for my ACR. I also use the eotech 512 on my AR15. I tried using the eotech clone in the past, it just didnt seem to hold up with the AR15. I now use the clone on my AR22 and it works fine.

I was thinking of getting the M4 style sight from primary arms.  The eotech is too expensive for me unless I found a used one.

Agree 100%. A basic Eotech is about $450. I would save up for that. You are saving money on something that you may rely to save your life. That is not a place you want to save.

How much was it?
I paid $499. He also had other eotech models there as well. I decided to go with this model because the buttons are on the side and dont interfere with my 3x magnifier.
The Bushnell HOLO sight battery contacts fell off after 200+ rounds of shooting 9mm and the EoTech clones are airsoft toys they don't hold up from the recoil of actual firearms. I have never used the sight mark you mentioned. What I can tell you is I have boxes of optics that I got on the cheap, if I had not purchased that crap I would have night force and elcan on all my rifles now.
There is no quick fix for quality save up and get the real thing
Yeah I ordered the new version of the sightmark for $99 shipped I figure if it dosent hold up to my ar shotty or ak I can always put it on my M&P 15-22 and save my money for an eotech. I really appreciate all of the feedback. I will let everyone know how the sight is once I get and use it a bit. But please keep the thread going. What about magnifiers any good ones at a decent price?
