Constitutional Carry

If this bill for Constitutional Carry passes, what I gather is that anyone with a full carry license can carry in any state, because that state must recognize the individual's permit, much like a driver's license is valid all over the country. You can't get a NY state driver's license, then have someone in delaware tell you, sorry you're license isn't recognized.

Does this mean that if you're a suffolk resident, and you have a sportsmans permit, which permits you from carrying everywhere, but then get say a Utah concealed carry permit, that Suffolk would have to recognize the Utah permit and let you carry indescriminantly?

We had a discussion in another thread about how the wording was in regard to restricitons and if you guys remember, I had some concerns about the wording. This version is CLEAR and I do not see a way NY could weasel out of it, but by the same token, it does not appear to negate the restrictions on licenses issued by NY and carried by NY residents in NY, in other words, the people that actually live here and have a NY licesne. But it does absolutely protect the out of staters: This isi what is going to give us ammunition....
In other words, while in your home state, you are bound to the conditions of your license.

Not true! Utah is one of the top states issuing non resident carry licenses

Answer is no to the op, but you would have full carry in 48 other states excluding Illinois and DC.

Tons of topics here about hr822,s2188, and also another senate bill that I forget the number. It's been a hot topic here, where you been!

Also IMO true constitutional carry is a state like Vermont, no license needed.

I haven't been on LIF in months due to a downed computer, so I missed this. so basically, if this passes, and you have an out of state carry license, then you can carry in almost every state, and every state can carry here, but we can't carry here. That is absolutely amazing.

If it passes, all you'll need to carry nationwide with the exceptions of Illinois and DC is your home state license. Yes everyone except residents here will have full carry. Hopefully when it's signed into law, this will be the beginning of the dismantling of our restrictions. Check and read the other threads on this. It's been explained in detain. Check the govt section.

Join the fight. Contact your state and local Reps. Letters, emails, phone calls, it all helps. Go to their offices. Don't wait for "somebody else". Apathy and inactivity are our worst enemies.

And remember who helps us when November rolls around.
