Do we have any Cat Diesel mechs in the house or can someone refer a good one for a survey? I'm looking at a pair of 3126's with 800+ hours on them. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Yes, this is a marine application. The predecessor to the 3126's were the 3116's with documented history of going kaboom well before 1000 hours. I'm pretty sure it's the same block with different boost but just looking for definitive answers.
