Well, that could be one eventual avenue for "selling" my last AR...

If Orange Man wins the nomination again this question may not be dodged ...
Who would be willing to do said confiscation?

They don't need to confiscate anything. Just make you a class E felon for failing to surrender them within 1yr. Many people would comply. Risk vs reward. Over 50, own a business, children, house, etc. You would be more likely to hand them over. Besides no one needs weapons of war. The way govt writes laws that could mean anything black.
You might get away with confiscation in NY but many parts of the country you're going to have to take them by force. It's a clear violation of the 2nd Amendment and the Heller/Bruen Supreme Court rulings.
We’re in strange times right now it wouldn’t shock me if they used force to get what they want in a handful of states. The states are falling of slowly and following New York and California on 2A laws
My concern would be they use some kind of executive action to take our firearms and tell us to take it to court. They seem to use executive action to circumvent other facets of the law. I have a few collectables I know I'd never see again...
I think every politician pushing for confiscation should be front and center knocking on the door.
Anyone wearing a badge who is willing to enforce a unconstitutional confiscation, please get your affairs in order. Make sure your beneficiaries are up to date. Make sure your department has plenty of black armbands. I believe it was John Wayne that said, "I'm willing to die trying to keep 'em. The question is, are you willing to die trying to take 'em."

I agree with the sentiments, although the second one is a little dicey--and the founders you cited would mostly agree too. However, neither Washington nor Jefferson said or wrote those things.

I was thinking about this after i posted that. I should have look to see if Washington & Jefferson actually said that i saw them on another site and just copied them.

I've been working my way through that!

I thought it was well done. Unfortunately it reinforces many of my thoughts. I don't want to give anything away, there was an interesting connection with Timothy McVeigh .

Yes, McVeigh was obsessed with what happened, at Waco and Ruby Ridge. He was at Waco, watching it happen, live, from behind the barricade lines but he was not a member of the compound/cult. There were many members of the general public there, behind the police lines. If you have a chance to read Brandon Stickney's book, titled All-American Monster, which is an unauthorized biography of McVeigh, I suspect you'll find many interesting things about him and what drove him to do what he did. In his mind, he was carrying out a justified and deserved revenge, when he picked, then executed, his plan, against his target, in Oklahoma. McVeigh had a substantial history of psychological problems.
