I'm just curious, If Ii wanted to bring a pistol to Florida to use at a range, not CCW, what's the policy? Do I still need a FL liscence?

What's involved in bringing a rifle down?

thanks

I did both a few months ago.. there is a thread that I started (but am too lazy to search for)...

I went down to florida from Islip. Took my Glock and a .22 rifle. The guns have to be in a locked box (i think only 2 guns per box) and ammo does NOT need to be separate. Once you are in FL, you can carry the pistol concealed ONLY IF you have your FL CCW. If not, keep it locked up.

Thanks, Pete. I've read through the thread, it's very helpful. My question is soley for the purpose of bringing them down without carrying.

you should be fine as long as you follow the 3 step rule

When i went down, I did not have my FL CCW.  I checked with the sheriff in West Palm and received a confirmation that a license is only needed to carry.

they do but nothing you dont already know.

just ammo seperate, lock box, and if you want to be 100% gun lock as well.

By "ammo separate" would putting it in a box inside my checked bags be ok?
