Surely you'll want to actually shoot it after it's boresighted so it's not just on paper, but sighted in. Taking it to one of the ranges and having the boresighting done there would be logical, no? Then you can always call the range and ask the price…
At Brookhaven they'll boresight your gun to get you on paper and you do the rest, or go the whole way and get it in the bull's eye for you. Their going price for the full deal is $20.00 and any of the R/O's can do the job.
They won't use up all your ammunition doing it, either. Of course if you show up with your scope poorly or incorrectly mounted and they have to remount it properly to get you sighted in, they'll likely ask for more $.
Boresighted my smith and wesson ar 15 last weekend myself for the 1st time. I have to tell you there is a great feeling of accomplishment when i finally hit a bulls eye.
Doing it yourself - successfully - can certainly make you feel good. It also helps understand that rifle and firearms/optics in general better as well.
Good for you!
