bore sight new scope

So picked up a scope for a marlin 30 30 on a yeah i think i need to spend some money on myself. I mounted the sweet scope on but ask myself, does this need to be bore sight first before i go to the range. Any thoughts?

Does it need to be? No. But it will save you some time and some ammo. There is a few vids on Midway USA's site about scope mounting. Scroll down to Sighting-In a Scope on the left column.
