Just heard on the radio that John Boehner (the crier), Speaker of the House, is going to leave the House of Representatives in October.
Hopefully we get someone with a spine who will stand up to the criminal in chief.
Kevin Mccarthy, The worst of the two evils. Two spineless cowards, bending over for Obama every chance they can. I'll have to re-route my case of vaseline I was sending to Boehner and have it now shipped to Mccarthy.
I heard he wanted more time to spend with his tan.
I get a kick out of the fact they always blame the conservative wing of the party for 'turmoil" It's never the RINOs it's always the tea party candidates.
Kevin Mccarthy is simply a paler model of Boehner that wears sunscreen.
A majority of both parties want the government put in check, which is why you see the "conservative" movement oust the Rhinos. The problem on the left is that their entire base votes on emotion. While the vast majority there also wants the government put in check, each minority that makes up their base will vote for the thing most important to them....free stuff, LBGTSKHDF support, "womans rights"/abortion, amnesty, blah blah blah. It would be nice to see a reset on the liberal side, but you wont because they wont have to, their base will still vote for them because of the single emotional issue no matter how badly they screw them everywhere else.

I'd like to see some evidence of this democrat desire to put the gov't in check (or of any RINO efforts for the same). All I've seen is the democrats expanding the government and pushing ot more and more to the left... and the RINOs going along to stay in power.
Preserve Second Amendment rights Assembly Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy will be presented with the California Rifle and Pistol Association's Outstanding Legislator Award during the group's 130th anniversary banquet on Saturday in Irvine. McCarthy said. "My son and I recently went hunting together, enjoying an activity that is truly part of our national heritage, and I will continue working to preserve the Second Amendment rights of all conscientious gun owners and sellers."Source: Campaign press release, "Rifle And Pistol Association" , Feb 17, 2006
National cross-state standard for concealed carry. McCarthy signed H.R.197&S.845 Establishes a national standard for the carrying of concealed firearms (other than a machinegun or destructive device) by non-residents. Authorizes a person who has a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm in one state and who is not prohibited from carrying a firearm under federal law to carry a concealed firearm in another state:
Notwithstanding any law of any State, a person who is not prohibited by Federal law from possessing a firearm and is carrying a valid license to carry a concealed firearm may carry in another State a concealed firearm.
If such other State issues licenses to carry concealed firearms, the person may carry a concealed firearm in the State under the same restrictions which apply in that State.
If such other State does not issue licenses to carry concealed firearms, the person may not carry a concealed firearm in a police station, in a courthouse, at a meeting of a governing body, in a school, at an athletic event, in an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages, or inside an airport, except to the extent expressly permitted by State law.
Teach kids Eddie Eagle GunSafe's lifesaving message. McCarthy signed H.RES.1365
RESOLUTION Commending the National Rifle Association for developing the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program and teaching 23,000,000 children its lifesaving message.
Whereas the National Rifle Association created the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program to teach the fundamentals of firearm safety to children in an effective way;
Whereas through activity books, posters, and other educational materials, children are reminded of a simple safety message, 'If you see a gun: STOP! Don't Touch. Leave the Area. Tell an Adult';
Whereas the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program has been used by more than 26,000 public or private schools, law enforcement agencies, and civic organizations, and has reached 23,000,000 children since 1988;
Whereas the annual number of firearm accidents has declined more than 80 percent since the inception of the program; and
Whereas the legislatures of 23 States have passed resolutions recommending the use of the Eddie Eagle Program;
Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
commends the National Rifle Association for developing the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program and teaching 23,000,000 children its lifesaving message;
supports the goals and objectives of the National Rifle Association's Eddie Eagle gun safety program;
encourages educators across the United States to incorporate gun education programs in elementary school curricula to help decrease the incidence of accidental gun-related deaths among children; and
encourages civic and community organizations concerned about the safety and well-being of children across the United States to support funding for the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program at the local level.

While considering HR 240, the FY 2015 Department of Homeland Security funding bill, in the Senate, newly elected Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) worked with Democrats and liberal Republicans to re-instate funding for Obama's executive amnesty. This vote is on whether or not to kill the bill that contains funding for Obama's executive amnesty. If this motion would have passed it would have stopped Obama's executive amnesty from being funded. This vote was on the key procedural provision known as Trade Promotion Authority (TPA). TPA grants a special fast-track status to trade deals negotiated by the president and as such has been dubbed Obamatrade. While conservatives generally support trade agreements as important tools for lowering tariffs and trade barriers, and TPA is often needed in order to effectively negotiate with other countries, this particular TPA was problematic for a number of reasons. Typically, a TPA is passed at the beginning of negotiation cycles so that Congress directs the president to negotiate along specific parameters. In this case, the three primary treaties that would receive fast-track status under this TPA have already been negotiated in secret for years. There is no reason to pass fast track authority without releasing more details about these trade agreements to the public. Moreover, given this president's penchant for implementing major policies without Congress, there was a widespread fear that Obama would use these trade agreements to pursue liberal policies, such as changes to our immigration system, labor laws, and global warming regulations. For example, according to WikiLeaks, one of the impending trade deals - the Trade in Service Agreement (TISA) - contains an entire immigration section, including a provision prohibiting US authorities from conducting in-person interviews for certain visa categories. Additionally, the main trade deal - the Trans Pacific Partnership - contains a "living agreement" provision, which could enable Obama to expand the scope of the agreement during the final months of his presidency or add countries like China to the agreement. Finally, GOP Leadership negotiated a deal to advance Trade Promotion Authority and in exchange for Democrat votes, promised to renew the crony capitalist Export-Import Bank and a failed government handout program known as Trade Adjustment Assistance, a subsidy bailout for labor unions. I quickly looked up Boehner on the same website.( www.ontheissues.org)
He doesn't look bad on that either.
the problem with these bills is what gets up for a vote in the forst place,how they dilute the good ones and how much they give away the farm.They haven't done a thing about any of the scandals, the VA, Benghazi, IRS etc and I don't think mccarthy will be any different.
Boenher has been a complete piece of milk toast in dealing with Democrats and Obama.
He's had a majority and he hasn't done a thing since!
It's status quo in Congress and I fear McCarthy will be exactly the same way.
perhaps not. With Boehner being beaten up and resigning, with 3 of the most popular republican candidates for President being non politicians perhaps he will realize the status quo is not doing the republican party or this nation much good.
WASHINGTON - Hours after House Speaker John Boehner announced that he would be resigning from Congress, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz added fuel to the fire by saying he'd heard "early reports" that Boehner cut a deal with Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to continue funding some of President Barack Obama's most controversial measures.
"I will say, the early reports are discouraging. If it is correct that the speaker, before he resigns, has cut a deal with Nancy Pelosi to fund the Obama administration for the rest of its tenure, to fund Obamacare, to fund executive amnesty, to fund Planned Parenthood, to fund implementation of this Iran deal - and then, presumably, to land in a cushy K Street job after joining with the Democrats to implement all of President Obama's priorities, that is not the behavior one would expect of a Republican speaker of the House," Cruz told reporters at the conservative Values Voter Summit in Washington.
The speaker's office did not immediately respond to an inquiry from TheBlaze about Cruz's charge.
WASHINGTON - Rep. Peter King on Friday lamented the decision by House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to resign from Congress at the end of October after being under pressure from House GOP conservatives since he took the post in 2011.
"I'm disappointed," King (R-Seaford) said in a telephone interview. "This is a victory for the crazies. You can't appease these people."
I would love to see Ted Cruz in there just for the reaction it will get from the WH and the Dems......He really is the real deal just not sure if the GOP is ready for him...
