It really is sad. The shooting in Nassau was really the epitome of wasted life that could have easily been avoided with a bit better training.

To your point, historically as economic hardship rises so too does incident of crime. More crime more police action. More calls just increases the chances of something terrible happening.

The problem is because of groups like the ACLU officers are no longer allowed to approach vehicles with their guns drawn, even when there is reasonable suspicion.

The reality is that no more cops are dying than were at this time last year. In fact there were more LODD deaths from 1/1/10 to /4/13/10 than between 1/1/11 and 4/13/11.

Bear in mind that the vast majority of LODDs are medical emergencies and car/motorcycle accidents.

Yes. Prayers sent. Cop killed but dirtbag lives.
Look at the professionalism of those police officers.
This dirtbag kills one of their own and they still arrested him. Not killed him. Which to be honest, I personaly would not have had a problem with.
