When legal, I usually carry behind my hip, typical 4 o'clock.
I now have a nice compact Sig 290 and it fits nicely up front.
However, I'm just a bit concerned that I might shoot something off.

So....am I a chicken?

IMHO, if you are not 10000% comfortable that a firearm will ONLY discharge if you pull the trigger, then don't carry it. I've carried a series 80 1911 'cocked and locked' that way. My Shield happens to have an external safety lever; my G19 has that tab in the center of the trigger, but I think the PRIMARY safety is located midway between your ears..........

Your belly must be smaller than mine.
Unfortunately my belly would make it CCW with out a shirt

But I prefer a minimalist approach to concealed carry.
A shoulder holster(Kimber full size 1911) or a Yaffe style (PM9 or mustang).

I always carried at 4...........except in the 70s when I carried a S&W model 36 on my ankle, underneath bell bottoms
