I submitted my renewal on 2/7 and the check was cashed a week later. Still have not received a thing from SCPD and my license expires in two weeks. Getting interesting.....

Same situation for me a few months back. I received a letter from the PLB and it read that if there was a delay on their part that the license will still be good past the expiration date as long as you handed in your papers on time. Things may have changed since then .

In Nassau you will also be told that although the CCIA allows you to leave your gun in a locked box in the car —Nassau does not allow you to leave weapons in your vehicle. Is the same in Suffolk?

Your going to go in, they ask you to sign a piece of paper saying you agree with the firearm storage and the sensitive/restricted bullcrap. You turn in your existing permit and they print you a new one. Pretty painless.
Okay, got it. So it’s not really an interview, just pick up your new license and sign some paperwork. Do they still ask for your SoMe accounts?

As I promised, I'm posting the document, which SCPD is providing to each licensee, as s/he picks up the unrestricted license. Unfortunately, the quality of the reproduction is poor and, in many places, unreadable. If anyone has a cleaner copy, please post it. Thanks.
