No one has or will be charged under this new law because its in the crosshairs. Just carry and live your life. And if someone was to get "stopped " or whatever do u really think there going to charge a person who has never been arrested with a felony i think not.
dont fool yourself…talk to an attorney that specializes in gun possession charges in this area (there are many) and they will tell you differently.

or the over 50,000 blue collar workers arrested on ”gravity knife” charges in the past decade for carrying a simple pocket knife

Dropped off my 18 hour certificate along with the $5 check in Yaphank this week.
Was told that it could take up to 6 months until they call me to come back in for the CCW upgrade.
Heard from other people that they are saying 4 to 6 months now.

This should be a warning light to all who are dragging their feet on this course. I believe Gary is right about this, CCIA 16/2 course will be found unconstitutional. God only knows how long that ruling will take to manifest in the courts. In the meantime, drag your feet another couple of months and the weight time will be over 2 years.

As a side note, no one here has posted of any Nassau carry permits. If you are from Nassau can you update the thread?

Yupp. I just got an email from SCPLB as I wanted a status update on my application that I submitted 3/2022 and this was the response….

“ Most of the investigators are processing applicants from April/May of 2021.”

Beyond ridiculous they will use that and the amendments for CC as a way to drag this shit out even longer.

Thanks. Actually it is a Gen V ACR-E. I'm a Viper fan and have had seven of them over the years. This one is the last year (2017) limited edition GTS-R. They stopped making them that year and I couldn't resist.
Awesome find! If you want a specific color they are very hard to find. Always wanted ACR, Just as I started looking prices went to the moon. Best of luck with it.

Let's say they drop the training requirements in 6 months which is unlikely, everybody handing in an amendment at once...lol They will drag that out for years...
I don't think this is going to be dragged out for years. NYS gave the Supreme Court the middle finger by passing the CCIA. The law isn't just some highly nuisanced interpretation of Bruen but an in your face rebuke of the SCOTUS decision. Similar attempts at ignoring the Bruen decision and rulings applying or ignoring provisions of the decision are occurring all over the country. These challenges to Bruen are going to quickly get back to SCOTUS for a smack down. You had a ruling by the 5th Court of Appeals that 18 USC 922(g)(8) is unconstitutional given the Bruen decision (denial of 2A rights as a result of a civil restraining order). My guess is many of the provisions of the CCIA are going to be struck down by state courts and others that survive will be quickly struck down by the Supreme Court.

I was implying once the training is dropped with everyone applying for a ammendment at once the SCPLB will drag out the 5 dollars ammendment process for years being that is currently up to 5-6 months waiting period already with the training.....
